Whoa. A little darker than I thought you would draw him, but I guess that my perception was flawed. This is an incredible picture overall.

For the body shape and structure, I give it an outstanding. The shirt and coat drapery gives him that perfect bad-boy look, and it's very realistic. I have one minor anatomy hiccup with he neck right above his shirt being very thin and ropy. However, that's probably more of a personal opinion, rather than technical flaw, so if you were shooting for "emanciated" (or maybe very thin, wiry?), then you hit it spot on. It just stands out a bit to me.

The shading and texture is perfect. I love the overall look and feel, with the various shading of bloodspots (almost suggesting repeated assaults over a long period of time).

A very dark piece, but even more interesting is the total contrast of his expression. Very cool, and collected. Bored even. And yet his eyes, looking off to the side that way suggest a bit of sadness (or meloncholy?). Or, with how they are pointed, maybe even that he is ashamed that this is the image he gives everyone? Not sure.. so many interpretations!

Anything that makes me think, look at it, think again I think is an awesome picture. Brings out the creativity in everyone if it makes the appreciator think. And this deviation DEFINITELY does for me.

Bravo!

It's almost as if he regrets the life choice he made, and he's just begining to think of how to get out of it... Or he is grieving for the life he knows he now will never have...

Maybe someone dear to him (girlfriend? Friend?) told him not to make that choice, and he's only just realised what the meant...

Or, he just doesn't care!
