Kristianaby =CaptainEvieCommentsDevious CommentsFirst off, thanks so much for giving me my first critique! You have no idea how much it means to me
As I'm still learning and I didn't complete the whole drawing, I sort of just used the color of her shirt as the overall background. I thought about doing more with it (like an actual background XD), but I didn't have time to. I can see now that it looks a bit "off", so I'll remember that for next time Most of the shading detail is in the face. I feel as though I rushed everything else, but facial details are the most important to me. I'm glad you noticed the details! Haha, the circles on the left are actually references for the colors I used to color her in. Though I must say, I like your interpretation better. Yeah, it's not exactly a true character sheet, but I wanted add something extra. Again, thank you for taking the time to critique me. I hope to get better and other people's oppinions are important to me, whether positive or negative. -- Bring me that horizon... Drink up, me hearties, yo ho! I had forgotten I was going to comment on the fact that the "shading" moved down, and sort of gave her the look like she was turning invisible, from the bottom up. Makes sense when you said you used her shirt color to finish out the background with. hehe.
As long as you keep working, you'll get better. -- Clubs: ~MTR-Fan-Fiction-Club,~MeettheRobinsonsclub,~TCTF I am Lewis Cornelius Robinson in *The-Disney-Directory's Character Claimers' Crew Because, I already have a family. - Lewis, MTR |
With this drawing, the purple background does make her stand out, although if there was a background with more substance (or even the hint of a little more background) it would be alot more interesting to look at in total.
You've put some great attention to detail in there. The necklace looks good, and I love the almost "Mona Lisa" type of smile. The eyes stand out very well.
I do also like the circles you've put on the left. It almost remonds me of "out of focus" type background lighting, as though there were several street lamps behind her, or that the purple was a fog that was blurring them. A little too "abstract" to be called a true background, but adds much to the picture.
Overall, great job!
